Why work with a coach?
If you want a change but are having trouble making it, a career coach can spark insights, make recommendations based on their expertise, and hold you accountable in a way that friends, colleagues and even family can’t.
A coach is a great way to get clarity on your goals, build an action plan, gain momentum, and, most importantly, see results.
As your career coach I can help you:
Accelerate your job search whether you’re a recent grad or a seasoned professional
Polish every tool in your jobseeker’s toolbox (resume, LinkedIn, interview skills, networking and more)
Develop a clear and concise path to achieving your goals
Improve your self-esteem and confidence
Advise on salary and promotion negotiations
Provide tips on how to grow and utilize your network
And give you support each and every step along the way
Like any other relationship, the more you put into your sessions, the more you’ll get out. Those who get the best results are receptive to feedback and open to doing the work after the session is over. I'll help you stay on track and work with you to ensure outstanding results.

Commonly Asked Questions
So what exactly is career coaching anyway?
Career coaching gives you the tools and accountability to get where you want to go – faster! I help you realize what your goals are, I help you develop and plan for how to reach your goals and I help you deliver specific actions to help you reach your goals. I help with specific things like re-drafting your resume and with more philosophical things like “what do I want to focus on in my career” or “what makes me unhappy or happy about my current job? How do I find more of what makes me happy?” I’m here to guide you while keeping you accountable to your goals and ambitions.
For over ten years, I’ve worked on both the HR and Recruitment teams within fast-growing, high performing businesses so I’m keenly aware of what a company looks for in a new hire or an internal promotion. I’ve helped build and rebuild teams so I understand the process and the priorities when companies are looking to hire externally. I’ve negotiated with employees who are looking for a salary raise or a promotion and I’ve helped employees navigate working with a difficult manager or work environment. I’ve helped managers improve and build leadership skills. All of these experiences fall under the purview of career coaching. I can help you look for a new job, negotiate a raise, figure out where you want to go next, improve your leadership skills and get ready for the next stage of your career!
How long will it take for me to make my investment back?
Like any other relationship, the more you put into your sessions, the more you’ll get out. Those who get the best results are receptive to feedback and open to doing the work after the session is over. My rates are quite affordable in the context of your career or a job search. As an example, a 1% salary increase could recoup the cost of my services within 6-12 months. Obviously, finding the right job or promotion comes with a much steeper increase than 1%.
I offer packages with a specific dollar commitment to reduce the hourly cost. Knowing that we are committed to working together on a specific project, allows me to offer you a lower rate than I do for ad-hoc assistance. Many of my competitors only offer pay-by-the-hour type approaches which I find misalign incentives and customers behave differently knowing that the “clock is ticking”. I find that the commitment that a package represents makes my customers more committed to following through on what we discuss, so everyone ends up happier.
Where do we meet?
All 1×1 coaching sessions are run remotely via Google Hangout, Zoom or over the phone. After our consultation, and agreement on a package, we will have a one-hour video call to get started and outline specific steps to achieve your goals . There will be work that you are responsible to complete independently, and for each of our sessions we will circle back and review everything together. I will also work on materials to support your objectives independently and return it to you for review (IE – resume, cover letter, promotion request letter, other deliverables ).
As long as you have an internet and phone connection, we’re good to go! If you’re located in the San Diego area, I am able to meet in person.
But, what if it’s not the right time?
If reaching your career goals is important to you, then you’ll find time to make this a priority. It’s a small amount of time to commit in comparison to finding a new job, getting promoted, or finding happiness in your career. Choosing the wrong job, could lead to at least a year of career stagnation, so this is a small price to pay in terms of your time and money to make sure you are making the right decisions. I offer flexibility so we can work together to make the timing right.
How do we measure success?
Depending on the service you choose, success will look different. I promise to work together until you are satisfied with your results. This means you will have a new resume and cover letter that you are proud to present in front of an employer, a new job, or a newfound confidence in the way you interview with a list of commonly asked questions, interview styles and questions types.
If you purchase a package, three months of follow-up support is included upon the completion to ensure that you feel satisfied with the results and supported through any transition (i.e. settling into a new job, new role etc.) that might result from us working together.
